modelled as a tree trunk, deftly carved in relief on the exterior with a pair of cranes, one of them grasping a sprig of lingzhi in its mouth, both perched beneath a gnarled pine tree besides leafy shoots of bamboo, the bamboo with a reddish-brown patina with traces of lacquer

There are some chips to the extremities, especially to the branches of the pine tree. The overall condition is otherwise quite good and the bamboo has an attractive patina.
