Description

the broad circular dish with shallow flared sides, raised on short splayed foot, finely decorated in shaded tones of cobalt, the interior with a medallion enclosing a stylised mandala centred with a swirling pearl surrounded by curling ribbons and a three-pronged double vajra pointing on the cavetto, further surrounded by beribboned 'Buddhist Emblems' (Bajixiang), the underside decorated with a ring of elongated petal lappets radiating around the foot and carefully accented with simulated 'heaping and piling', the outer edge of the rim picked out with a key-fret border, the base inscribed in underglaze blue with a four-character reign mark within double circles

Condition

There is a 0.5 cm., restored rim chip, but otherwise the dish is in quite good overall condition
