Estimate
50,000 - 70,000 HKD
bidding is closed

Description

the copper body of lobed quatrefoil section with rounded sides supported on a short foot, the gilt rim incurved on one side to form the spout, applied overall with a deep peacock-blue glossy enamel and further decorated around the exterior with 'double-happiness' (shuang xi) characters wreathed by curling foliage and two multi-coloured lotus on the narrow ends, concealed by a lotus pad cover set with a pointed gilt-bronze knob, naturalistically detailed with gold veins and an undulating gilt-bronze border

Condition

There is some light rubbing to the gilt rims and light wear to the enamels. There are a few minor crackles to the enamels and tiny losses of blue enamel at the junction with the rims, but overall the water pot is in quite good condition.
