Description
the deep rounded sides supported on a short straight foot, decorated on the interior in shaded tones of cobalt with a central medallion depicting an episode of the literatti tale 'The Oxherd and the Weaving Maiden' showing the parted lovers reunited among clouds and a flock of magpies above a swirling stream, encircled on the walls by wispy clouds and flying magpies, repeated in white enamelled decoration over a bright turquoise ground around the exterior, above radiating scrolling petals and a band of key-fret on the foot, the white base inscribed in underglaze blue with a six-character seal mark
Condition
There are some original crackles in the glaze around the rim, but apart from this the bowl is in good condition.
