Description

each of conical form, with deep rounded sides supported on a short slightly tapered foot, enamelled on the white interior in shaded tones of iron red, sepia and green with two goldfish grazing on clusters of pondweed, their scaly bodies, tail fins and gills naturalistically detailed in pencilled tones, the exterior covered with a deep copper-red glaze stopping neatly at the rim and foot, the base inscribed in underglaze blue with a six-character seal mark in underglaze blue

Condition

There is a faint 10 cm horizontal body line to the side of one, with a 1cm hairline in the middle filled in to stabilise the crack (visible only under bright light). The other is in good condition. Both have a few dirty pin-pricks on the interior.
