Condition
Overall the condition of the painting and alabaster is good with minor wear and dirt to the surface consistent with age. There is veining to the alabaster consistent with material, including a vein running from left to right above the figures and another running through the centre of the panel. There are a series of veins towards the bottom of the panel and there are areas of restoration here. It is possible that the painting may have been partially refreshed. There are a few very minor losses to the painting. There is some rubbing to the gilding on the frame, exposing the reddish ground.
