Condition

The overall condition of the bronze is good with minor wear and dirt to the surface consistent with age. There are few minor nicks, in particular to the calves and the back. There are some minor losses to the gilding, including areas to the back of the arms, the proper left buttock, the proper left heel, proper right knee, to the hair and proper left cheek. There are remnants of nails left in the holes through the feet and to the back of the head (the latter possibly for a lost crown of thorns). There are a few minor hairline casting fissures, including to the back of the proper right arm, to the underside of the proper left arm, and to the proper left middle finger. There is a small lacuna under the perizonium. There are some minor areas of white pigment, including under the perizonium.
