Condition
Overall the condition of the box is good with minor dirt and wear consistent with age. There are a few relatively small losses, including to the intarsia on the lid and to the edges of the bone mouldings on the back side of the lid. Some of the panels may be reattached. The graining of the bone on the back lid figurative panel is particularly apparent. There are a few small holes to the lid figurative panels. There is a split to one of the bone figurative panels on the back side. There is a little insert above the bone figurative panel to the left of the lock (probably original). The lock and key function. There is a metal pin to the lid for the lock.
