Condition
The canvas has been relined. There is a pattern of hairline craquelure chiefly visible in the sky. There appear to be quite extensive areas of retouching in the sky, especially in its upper half, which fluoresces a pale green under ultraviolet light, and more minor spots of retouching elsewhere, notably in the grey-roofed building in the lower right, however the varnish layer fluoresces more opaquely in parts of the architecture, obscuring a clear reading of the surface. The overall appearance of the work under normal light is good and it is ready to hang.
Held in a decorative pale gilt frame.
