Condition
The canvas has been relined. There is a pattern of very faint horizontal craquelure visible only under close inspection, a tiny spot of abrasion near the pine tree branches. Under ultraviolet light the varnish layer fluoresces evenly and quite opaquely, however only a handful of scattered retouchings in the background are visible, notably spots around the wasp in the upper-right quadrant, in the background near the centre of the right framing edge, and intermittently along the framing edges. The appearance of this work is good and it is ready to hang.
Held in a decorative gilt frame.
