Acquired by the grandfather of the present owner circa 1930
Condition
The panel is flat and even and ensuring a stable structural support. There is a minor faint, circa 1cm light surface scratch in the sky to the left of the foliage. Apart from three spots of discoloured retouching (just visible in the catalogue illustration), and possibly a stroke of retouching below the rocks in the lower right corner, this painting is in very good original condition, and ready to hang.
Held in a decorative gilt frame with a nameplate.
The colours are somewhat deeper in reality than in the catalogue illustration, and the sky less pink.
