Condition

The board is flat and even and ensuring a stable support. As visible in the catalogue illustration there are two tiny spots of paint flaking in the centre of the sky. There is a possible spot of retouching visible under ultraviolet light below the building in the centre, however there are no further signs of retouching. This painting is in good, virtually original condition. The colours in the original are somewhat deeper and less bright than in the catalogue illustration. The white spots in the dark pigments near the lower edge are reflections from the impasto.
