Reproduced on page 159 of Winnie-the-Pooh(Methuen, 1926). This is the final illustration in the book and reproduced as a full-page illustration.
In December 2013 Sotheby's sold in these rooms the companion piece from the beginning of the book, "Here is Edward Bear, coming downstairs now, bump, bump, bump..." (The Art of Illustration. From the collection of Michael Winner, 12 December 2013, lot 93). The illustration sold for £139,250.
Although both pieces were included in Shepard's exhibition at The Sporting Gallery, 26 November - 21 December 1926, this present piece appreared as No 1 in the exhibition ("Here is Edward Bear, coming downstairs now, bump, bump, bump..." was the third piece).
