on the likely surrender of Germany ("...there seems to be no party in Germany stronger than the Nazis and they know they are doomed anyway in which case it will not end quite so soon as a lot of people think...", 7 September 1944), writing a week after VE Day about the final negotiations with Germany and admitting concern over Tito in Yugoslavia ("...He is most plainly trying to cash in on my victory and the help I've given him to do a bit of land grabbing...exactly what we went to war to prevent..."), 9 pages, various sizes, various locations, 16 October [1942] to late 1940s; together with notes by Evelyn Murray of conversation with Alexander about the war aims of the Russians, the Italians, and the North African campaign ("...The battle of Alamein was very carefully timed to precede the Eisenhower landing in Morocco..."), 3 pages, c.1945
