  • Relief with the Virgin and Child
  • polychromed and gilt wood, in a partially gilt wood frame

Condition

Overall the condition of the wood is good with some wear and dirt to the surface consistent with age. There are losses to the paint throughout due to rubbing and flaking. There is craquelure throughout the surface. Many of the affected areas have been refreshed. There is some particular rubbing to the proper left eyelid of the Virgin, Her upper lip and the tips of Her fingers, the Child's lips, palm of the proper right hand and the tips of the fingers on the proper left hand. The joints of the fingers and along the edges of the frame are slightly open. There is a rounded slot to the lower edge of the frame.
