Mayor Gallery, London
Acquired from the above by the present owner in July 2000

Condition

Executed on cream wove paper, not laid down and taped to the mount at all four corners. The left, lower, and right edges are deckled. There are some stains at all four corners relating to the tape on the reverse of the sheet. There is a small tear towards the lower right edge and a fine crease to the lower right corner. The sheet is slightly time-stained and there is some light studio dirt. Otherwise, this work is in good condition. Overall the colours are fairly accurate in the printed catalogue, though the paper tone is slightly warmer and the colours on the creature are more vibrant and fresh in the original.
