Condition
Overall the condition of the wood is good with dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There is a loss to the lower right hand corner and another smaller loss to the shield in the lower right corner. There are two small losses to the toes of the left prostate soldier and Hercules. There are two small holes to the top edge, a further two to the bottom edge and two lacunae to the right edge, probably for mounts. There is some very minor stable naturally occurring splitting in the wood to the torso in the lower left corner. There is some minor stable worming and dirt in the crevices. The wood has not been varnished on the outer right and left edges. There are some chips and wear to the outer edges of the wood. To the reverse of the relief are some lacunae, staining and minor inclusions.
