Catalogue Note
"I think of my own painting style as figurative graffiti, it is a figurative way of describing abstract ideas. Just like writing a Chinese character. When looking at the character as a whole, you immediately understand its meaning. However, every stroke of the character signifies a more abstract idea that in itself has its own meaning. I find my work to be similar to this, each brush stroke has a particular significance, however, when the painting is finished, you understand it at a different level and with a different meaning."
