Condition
Colour:
The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate, although the background is warmer and the red is lighter in the original. The catalogue illustration fails to fully convey the complex surface texture apparent in the original.
Colour:
This work is in good condition. There is a 9cm. long fine impression towards the top edge. Visible mostly in raking light, there are scattered handling marks in places, notably along the edges. There are several scattered and isolated circular recesses to the wax surface, likely inherent to the artist's choice of medium and working process. Some dirt has accumulated in a few of these and in a few places elsewhere. There is overal irregularity to the work's surface, in keeping with the artist's working process.
