Condition

Good general condition. Excellent colour and patina. The top with water marks to the top left of the back. There is a separation from shrinkage to the plank top. The interior is papered in part with 18th century engraving with brass hardware. The lock mechanism is lacking. There are two later batons to this interior. The drawer interiors with splits and separations, one drawer formerly with a locking mechanism. Typical old chips, marks and scratches and the interior would benefit from a clean. This mule chest is academically interesting, attractively coloured and a good, rare, example of its type.
