Condition

The sheet is hinged at the upper left and upper right corners. As visible in the catalogue illustration, some of the pigments in the figure's skin tone have discoloured with age. Held in a black-painted modern frame, with a white mount.

Catalogue Note

After training at Gustave Worms' class at the Paris Conservatoire, Marthe Mellot (1870-1947) had a successful acting career on the stage and screen.
