Condition
Good original colour especially to the blue sky, shades of green in foliage of trees, and to the delicate mustard yellow shades, and to some areas of the original. Woven in wool and silk (original silks still present in large areas). Faces faded colour but extant original features. Sky, and light cloud and background areas stable. Overall in good condition. Minor horizontal colour change split in robe of seated figure. There are small areas of repair and reweaving, in areas, for example to areas of some of brown outlining to cloak of figure on far right. Rewoven areas of brown along the lower edge ground, and in the lower left corner there are a few small holes visible in the tan coloured ground. To the far right centre, to the lower part of robe, there is section of reweaving in blue and a small tongue shaped hole, with brown bark and green grass patch showing. Generally good condition.
Fragment of once larger tapestry. Reduced in with width and height. Lacking border. With later modern blue selvedge. Linen backing. Hessian across the top for support, and hoops attached for hanging. Recommend Velcro added across the top for hanging purposes in the future.
Now good size, balanced composition and colour. Attractive and decorative tapestry panel.
