rectangular, pressed wavy ground, the original mirrored lid with two lidded compartments and the original tortoiseshell handled brush, irregular flower-shaped thumbpiece, discharge of Julien Berthe, and a tortoiseshell and gilt metal snuffbox, Paris, circa 1755, rectangular, pressed overall with flowers, birds and leafy scrolls on a chequered or stripped ground, shell thumbpiece
Condition
first: vertical split at rim above hinge (right hand corner of lid), and traces of glue at the other end of the hinge.
second: some wear to gilding, some wear and light chipping to bottom corners.
