Description

each of the three seats in the form of open scallopshells, with open arm rests in the form of dolphins and legs in the form of conch shells
Condition
A very decorative piece and generally in stable condition. There are chips to carved detail and losses to painted finish in places, revealing gesso and timber. This is particularly notable to the seat and the fronts of the legs from where there has been exposure to use. There is a loss to the tip of the front left foot. There is evidence of ingrained dirt throughout. Losses to filler on the seat revealing screw apertures. There is a metal brace to the rear central leg and evidence of some old repairs.
