Condition
Both canvases are unlined. Both paint surface are secure and in good condition with fine craquelure running throughout under old, somewhat yellowed varnishes. In the former there is an old restored damage of approx. 3 cm. squared lower left in the foreground and a small tear of approx. 4 cm. in the lower centre of the painting, as visible in the catalogue illustration. Inspection under UV light reveals restoration in the aforementioned damage and some minor, fine work infilling the lines of the craquelure. Inspection under UV light of the latter reveals some minor, fine work infilling the lines of the craquelure and some more significant retouching to the centre part of the sky.
Both paintings are offered in matching gilt wood and plaster frames in good condition.
