Catalogue Note

Clearly indebted to Antonio Bellucci and Antonio Pellegrini, the artist must have been active in and around the Veneto in the first half of the eigtheenth century. It is not inconceivable that he should be identified with the artist (presumably incorrectly) known as A*** Bernardini (1697-1762) who was the court painter at Mannheim. Frescoes by him can be found in the Thurn und Taxis palace in Frankfurt.
