Condition
The condition of the bronze is good with dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. It is cast in sections and joints are visible, including to the sides of Christ's body and two at the top of St John's arms. Both of the figures are loose on the base, especially Christ. There are lacunae and fissures throughout, and large original holes to the undersides. There is a hole to the top of St John's head and on the base next to his proper left foot. There is minor greening to some of the crevices. Christ has been reattached and adhesive is visible at the knee.
