Catalogue Note
joli exemplaire ayant appartenu à sutton sharpe, jeune avocat anglais dont les escapades à Paris étaient passées en débauches avec son ami Mérimée, qui n'hésita pourtant pas à le décrire ainsi : "un homme d'esprit très vicieux qui gagnait 100 000 francs par an à défendre la veuve et l'orphelin et les dépensait avec des rats". Les volumes furent rapportés à Londres pour y être reliés. Sutton mourut en 1843, date à laquelle l'exemplaire est offert par ses héritiers à la famille Prévost (selon une note figurant sur l'ex-libris de Sutton).
