on ne connait pas d'exemplaire du premier tirage des Caractères. Les premiers exemplaires connus sont du deuxième tirage, contenant 10 cartons déjà. Ces exemplaires sont au nombre de 6. Le tirage suivant est le troisième des Caractères, c'est le 2e tirage connu. Il comprend 16 cartons supplémentaires.
l'exemplaire est bien complet du feuillet d'errata, monté à la suite du privilège (voir Tchemerzine). Le Privilège quant à lui est ici celui du rarissime premier tirage connu : il est accordé à Michallet, daté du 8 octobre 1687, sans limite de temps.
