Condition

The illustration of the catalogue is accurate. Good overall condition despite the inevitable scratches and marks throughout due to age and handling. All constructions are firm and sound. The paint is later but with a nice old-looking aspect. The paint is chipped and rubbed throughout especially on exposed areas. A front leg has been restored. There are some old traces of woodworm. The upholstery is in good condition. We would advise to reduce the height of the cushion of the seat to get a nicer shape. Very elegant model with some very nice carved details.

Catalogue Note

Watson, The Wrightsman Collection, New York, 1966, vol I, n°9 a et b).
