Condition
The canvas is not lined. A close inspection reveals some scattered minor craquelure: running vertically towards the lower left and upper right corners, in the lower centre of the composition, and running diagonally in the centre of the upper right quadrant. There are two small spots of localised shrinkage in the trees to the centre left. Examination under UV light reveals a small spot of retouching in the centre of the sky and two spots of retouching along the right part of the upper edge. There are further small lines of fluorescence around the top of the gateposts and the window, between the branches of the trees to the right of the gate and towards the lower left corner. This work is in very good condition.
