Description

  • bronze
with globular body, curved neck and slightly splayed foot ring, two movable ring handles attached to the sides by raised animal masks, the circular domed cover with four small snake-shaped knobs, the neck decorated with triangular patterns, the body and foot with four bands of hooked and kidney-shaped geometric motifs, the surface of the bronze with a light olive-green patina and encrustation

Condition

There is a visible horizontal crack on the neck approx. 2 inches (5 cm) long. There is a dent with associated crack on the body under one handle. There is a small crack on the foot ring. There is a repaired hole to the base as well as to the cover. The cover with associated restored cracks and an area of loss to the inner rim.
