each with a well-shaped five-segment crestrail terminating in outscrolled handgrips, the bowed rectangular splat carved with a central cloud medallion flanked by narrow beaded flange brackets, the hard mat seat and molded frame supported by two bowed transverse braces underneath, surmounting slightly flared cylindrical legs joined by beaded and shaped aprons, the front carved with entwined vines, leather cushions (4)

Acquired by a prominent New Yorker in the mid 1900s, possibly from Ellsworth & Goldie, Ltd., New York, and thence by descent.
Condition
Each with repaired breaks to one or more joins along the crestrail. Both with later added hardwood seats with with loose joins and spandrels.
