Condition

The parasol top has been treated for bronze disease. There is 1/4 (0.6 cm) inch loss with an associated crack to the center of the tube. There is the expected wear and loss to the gilding overall.

Catalogue Note

This type of fitting is called gaigongmao in Chinese, for the parasol used on a horse-driven chariot. Similar objects are found both in China and Korea.
