A GILT-METAL FILIGREE AND WHITE JADE MOUNTED SNUFF BOTTLE QING DYNASTY, 1800-1900

of flattened form, each main side mounted with one half of a white jade plaque split lengthwise, one half carved with the characters fu gui chang chun, the other with a peony spray and aster flower, each half of the plaque surrounded by filigree floral scrolls extending up the neck

Acquired in Hong Kong between 1969 and 1972.

There is a dent to the filigree work on one of the short sides and the shoulder, dents to the lip and foot ring, and minute chips to the colored inlay on the cover. Some of the gilding is worn and discolored. The jade is in overall good condition.
