Description

each of rectangular form, with a smaller compartment above a larger one, opening to reveal a single shelf and a pair of small drawers, the doors and sides with applied pale celadon and off-white jade plaques of varying auspicious symbols each enclosed within a gilt foliate scroll  and with baitong lockplates and hinges, all above a shallow drawer with further gilt work (2)

Acquired in Canada in the 1960s.

Condition

Several of the jade appliques have been restuck and one is missing. One with splits and a painted chip to the top of the cabinet. The other, with chips and losses around the top edge.
