Description
of globular form, the soft-paste porcelain delicately molded with a spray of lush floral blooms below a narrow scroll border; together with a white-glazed carved and reticulated brushpot with a deer beneath pine trees; a fanghu-form white-glazed water pot with applied chilong and bat at the rim; and an ovoid teadust-glazed waterpot (4)
Provenance
Collection of Millicent Rogers (1902-1953) and thence by descent.
Condition
The waterpot - there is a 1/2 in. (1.3 cm) hair crack running down from the rim and two cracks probably firing derived running from the base across the foot and partially up the sides. The brushpot - in good condition. The fanghu vase - the chilong's head has been restuck. There is a chip to the bat's mouth. The teadust waterpot - two small glaze pulls. Otherwise, in good condition.
