with a wide mouth, flat lip, and no foot, moulded in the form of a basket with a bamboo frame supporting the woven areas and a rope-like band dividing the woven section from the plain neck, covered over all with an amber-yellow glaze; with a glass stopper

Condition
There are some minor surface abrasions, otherwise the snuff bottle is in quite good condition.

The form of the present basket appears to be unique, and it is possible that it is intended to simulate a basket, rather than a container wrapped in a protective covering, more typically found in snuff bottle forms of the mid-Qing period.
