Catalogue Note

An extraordinary survival, this is one of the four appendixes added by Jefferson to some of the 200 already-printed copies of his Notes on Virginia, intended for presentation. The present example was gathered by the Duke de Luynes (possibly Charles Marie d’Albert de Luynes, 1783-1839).
