Titles printed in red and black, large folding map, 129 (of 132) plates, many folding, including maps, views, and a portrait of the author, text illustrations; large map frayed at right edge affecting image, lacking 3 plates, some offsetting, dampstain in center of I,99 and following, portion of bottom edge charred affecting lower gutter margin in first third of volume one, small dampstain in upper margin of plate at page 236 and quires 4M-N and elsewhere, occasional light spotting. Contemporary calf, double-fillet border, gilt-stamped red morocco title labels on spines; covers detached, worn.
