Trumbull, John

Document signed ("Jn:o Trumbull") on a slip of paper (4 3/4 x 8 in.; 123 x 203 mm), [New York, ca. 1825], being an invoice and packing slip for a "Box directed to Saml. Williams Esq. 13 Finsbury Square London"; some marginal staining.

Trumbull's $1,400 invoice was for "Fifty early & fine impressions of the Plate of the Declaration of Independence" at $20 each and "Ten fine proofs of the same" at $40 each. These prints of Trumbull's most famous historical painting were each accompanied by a key and description. Samuel Williams was an American expatriate banker.
