Chancery folio (11 3/8 x 8 1/4 in.; 288 x 210 mm), types 130G (colophon), 76G (text), 56(75)G (inscription on Noah's ark), 57 lines, collation: [()2-8, 1-78, 810]=[73] leaves, lacking first leaf with Ratdolt's dedicatory letter, one 10- and one 13-line white-on-black woodcut initial, 55 small woodcuts (including repeats), numerous woodcut roundels and diagrams, all woodcuts hand-colored, contemporary marginal notes in two hands on 10 leaves; fore- and lower margin of leaf ()2 renewed with two small mends in upper margin, marginal dampstains and worming in first quire, ()8 cut short in lower and fore-margin with tears in upper margin mended without loss, occasional marginal dampstains and spotting, mended tear in lower margin of leaf "48" entering woodcut border. Modern antique calf, blind-tooled in a panel design. Dealer's invoice laid in.

The text reproduces that of the 1481 edition with the addition of a circular diagram with Jerusalem at the center of the world on fol. "2," and genealogies of the Virgin and St Anne at the end. The marginal notes supply additional historical data to the chronicle, mainly with regard to Church history.
