Autograph inscription signed ("George Gershwin") beneath the frontispiece photographic portrait of the composer from the program of the original Broadway production, with the facing title-page (together 12 x 17 in.; 305 x 432 mm), n.p., 31 March 1936; some fraying at edges, glue stain in upper left corner of frontispiece.  Matted, framed and glazed.

Catalogue Note

A large.bold inscription: "For Kathleen — Try this on your piano — with best wishes.  George Gershwin.  Mar. 31, '36."  The original Broadway production of Porgy and Bess opened in October 1935 and closed shortly before this program was inscribed.
