The Engraved Passion (B., M., Holl. 1-16)

The set of 16 engravings, mainly fine, early impressions, Christ on the Mount of Olives (M.4), The Crucifixion (M.13), and The Entombment (M.15) on paper with fragments of bull's head watermark, the remainder without watermark, all with thread margins or trimmed just within the platemark, in good condition apart from some light spots on versos of Man of Sorrows and Christ crowned with Thorns, and light abrasion to paper on versos of Christ Taken by the Jews and the Resurrection, all hinged at left edge save 6 which are hinged at top. Modern morocco, blind-tooled in a panel design, edges gilt, by Riviere & Son; joints worn.
