Texte : 1 carte dépliante et 11 planches dont 9 en couleurs, 2 repliées.



Atlas : 1 titre lithographié daté de 1861, 97 planches dont 24 teintées, 3 rehaussées couleurs et 3 en double page, certaines d’après les photographies de Spackman et Macartney.



Newton fut vice-consul au Liban de 1852 à 1859. Il participa aux fouilles du mausolée d'Halicarnasse.
