Arabic manuscript on paper, 358 leaves plus 5 flyleaves, 13 lines to the page, written in naskh script in black ink with interlinear Persian transliteration in red nasta'liq script, verses separated by gold roundels, most surah headings in white thuluth script against a gold ground surrounded by polychrome floral motifs, illuminated marginal devices throughout, margins ruled in green, black, gold and dark blue, catchwords, some marginal annotations, opening double-page illuminated frontispiece composed of an interlace of scrolling polychrome flowers with text on plain ground, illuminated double-page finispiece with similar elaborate floral motifs and marked with an illuminated double-page in the middle of the Qur'an, lacquer binding with intertwining polychrome flowers
