Catalogue Note
Atiye Sultana was the daughter of Mahmud II's thirteenth wife Parviz Falak Kadin Effendi (d.1863). She was born on 2 January 1824 and married on 7 May 1840 (as his second wife) Field Marshal H.H. Damad Ahmad Fathi Pasha (d.1858), Ambassador to Austria 1835-36, at the Court of St James's 1838, and to France 1838. She had two daughters.
