Description

Arabic manuscript on watermarked European paper, 48 leaves, 7 lines to the page, written in large Maghribi script in brown ink, diacritics in green, blue and red, verses separated by clusters of 3 gold dots, illuminated marginal roundels, illuminated opening headpiece with floral medallion extending into outer margin and strapwork gold border, ensuite panel on final page, 2 surah headings in gold Kufic script with marginal medallions filled with large arabesques, brown leather binding with stamped foliate medallions, marbled doublures, with flap

Condition

In fair overall condition, some waterstaining, leaf edges frayed, text block detached from binding, abrasions to extremities, ink bold and illumination bright, as viewed.
