Description

  • leather and metal thread decoration
of concertina form, the front decorated with maras decoration comprising entwining palmettes, with a gilt-brass lock engraved with foliate motifs, the embroidered inscription concealed beneath the flap, with a gilt-embossed pattern of fleur-de-lis to underside of flap and pink silk-lining to interior 

Condition

In fairly good condition, the surface with ware consistent with age and use, some of maraş decoration missing with exposed paper-base and loose metal-threads, completely missing to reverse, pricked design still evident, as viewed.
