the centre with a medallion in the 'Green man' palette, of a scantily-draped nymph seated on a river bank, with buildings on islands in the distance, within a pale-blue-ground border of white fronds, the broad dark-blue-ground rim finely-painted with grotesques, dolphins, scrolls and ribbons, three times inscribed 1536, the underside witrh radiating blue and ochre lines

restored chip to rim at 2 o'clock. Glued flake chip to underside of rim at 3 o'clock.
